Gynecology is a field of medicine dealing with prevention, detection and treatment of female reproductive system diseases.
When should you visit a gynecologist?
To maintain a woman’s health and reveal asymptomatic reproductive system illnesses leading to serious problems, it is recommended to visit a gynecologist at least once or twice a year. Even if you don’t feel any pain or changes in your state of health and cycles, you should visit a specialist regularly.
However, if you experience at least one of the following symptoms, you should consult a gynecologist without delay:
- Aches or pains in the pelvic region
-
Hemorrhages not related to your cycles
-
Cycles disorders
-
Unusual color, smell, volume or consistency of vaginal excretions
-
Itching or other changes in your skin
If at least one of the symptoms is detected, gynecologists at Dr Paramonov’s clinic suggest to make an appointment to avoid serious gynecological problems. By revealing causes of the symptoms early, we can ensure successful restoration of woman’s health.
Dr Paramonov’s clinic provides a wide range of services, including diagnostics, conservative and surgical treatment of different gynecological diseases.
Diagnostics of gynecological diseases
Dr Paramonov’s clinic is outfitted with equipment which enables us to conduct fast and precise diagnostics of gynecological diseases using following techniques:
- Ultrasonic examination of small pelvis organs
-
Blood tests for sex steroids (results available within two hours)
-
Pregnancy diagnostics (includes small pelvis ultrasonic examination and a blood test for human chorionic gonadotropin)
-
Infection diagnostics using polymerase chain reaction method
-
Colposcopy
-
Hysteroscopy
-
Biopsy followed by a cytologic examination
-
Uterine tubes permeability test
After all diagnostic tests, a specialist develops a treatment plan. If necessary, a consultation with a doctor in a related field (endocrinologist, urologist, breast specialist) is set. Gynecological disorders are diagnosed as quickly as possible.
Gynecologists perform prevention, diagnostics and treatment of following diseases:
- Uterine cervix diseases. At our clinic, we conduct both conservative and surgical treatment of the cervix. Nowadays, cervix diseases are observed in significant numbers of women. Thanks to a modern “Surgitron” radio wave apparatus it is possible to treat cervix erosion even in nonparous women.
-
Infertility. Infertility treatment is commenced in case of pregnancy not beginning in 12 months if a constant sexual relationship is present. Our clinic implements conservative treatment as well as different laparoscopic techniques using modern equipment.
-
Endocrine disorders connected with gynecological diseases. Our gynecological endocrinologist can assist you in restoring your cycles, achieving a wanted pregnancy, alleviating the climacterical period.
-
Sexually transmitted diseases. Timely detection of such diseases prevents inflammatory processes which can lead to serious illnesses.
-
Neoplasms in female genitals, uterus and its appendages. At our clinic, we perform surgical removal of benign and malignant neoplasms in female genitalia while keeping reproductive organs intact as much as possible.
At the JSC “Klinika Doktora Paramonova” we also conduct prophylactic observation of pregnant women.
How should you prepare to visit a gynecologist?
Before the consultation, make a list of questions you would like to ask a doctor, and during the conversation take notes of all suggestions you receive. You should also know the date of your last menstruation, its character (excretions volume) and your cycle duration. You should plan your visits of the gynecologist for the first phase of the cycle.
Besides, psychological preparation for the visit is important. Don’t be shy about asking your doctor on intimate peculiarities and specific points of sexual life, don't hide any information with regard to your health. A qualified gynecologist will never blame you, on contrary, they will help you and explain the situation. You shouldn’t prepare yourself in advance for unpleasant or painful sensations during the examination.
One day before visiting a doctor, you should exclude sexual contacts as test results might become unreliable due to possible presence of sperm.
Before visiting a doctor, empty your bladder and, if possible, bowels, in order for them not to interfere with the evaluation of internal genitals condition. Take a shower and change your underwear. You should not douche your vagina because such a procedure can change vaginal microflora, thus making test results unreliable; more than that, the doctor will not be able to evaluate the character of vaginal excretions. If your waiting in a queue takes a long time, empty your bladder once more.
Gynecologists at Dr Paramonov’s clinic are high-class specialists who can use modern equipment and their many years’ worth of knowledge to detect a disorder and prescribe suitable treatment to restore a woman’s reproductive health, and our doctors’ caring and attentive attitude towards every patient will help you pass your checkup in the most comfortable way.
